This webinar will explore what Basic Income may mean  to freelancers in the arts, including the unions of artists, writers, technicians, and performers, as well as from a labour perspective. We will also examine what it would take to achieve and what its impact might be.

Special Guests

Navjeet Sidhu is a Unifor National Representative in the Research Department and has been doing research, policy work and organizing for nearly 15 years in various labour, social justice organizations and advocacy groups. He currently sits as vice-chair of the Council of Canadians and is on the steering committee of the Migrant Workers Alliance for Change.

Craig Berggold is a freelance independent artist who is involved in labour movements. He is the elected Academic Representative at Public Service Alliance of Canada-Ontario Regional Council and former President (2014-19) of PSAC-901. Craig is also the volunteer team leader for the Case for Basic Income and the Arts campaign.
