Kingston Basic Income

Kingston Basic Income Guarantee has launched a new website. They are also doing a fundraising drive, which you can contribute to here.

They plan on using the funds to buy hundreds of Basic Income Now signs, t-shirts, and to support Basic Income Now's campaign to have Ontario MPP candidates sign a Pledge endorsing Basic Income.

Guaranteed Liveable Basic Income Bill Introduced in Parliament

NDP MP Leah Gazan introduced a private member’s bill, Bill C-232 (which you can see here) to develop a national framework for a permanent Guaranteed Livable Basic Income (GLBI) in Canada. Gazan is proposing a GLBI for all people living in Canada over the age of 17 regardless of participation in the workforce or an educational training program.

You can watch the video of her bill being introduced here and you can read more about the bill and her statements on it here.
